EMS Transport Cabinet systems are designed to transport patients from remote places with rough terrain to an awaiting ambulance on a main road. They also have the ability to store medical bags and medical equipment in the compartments made available. There are many options available to an EMS Transport Cabinet which can greatly help the mission at hand. For example, you can add drawers or doors to the open compartments to keep your gear and equipment from falling out during a rough transit. You can also add a lock to any drawer or door if you need security while transporting narcotics. Another option is a command board. If you are called to the scene of a terrible accident and need to direct subordinates in their specific tasks, a pull out command board with dry erase might be a necessity.
The most crucial part of the EMS Transport Cabinet is the flip down bed with straps to secure a patient during transport. There is space underneath the bed to store a medical back board while not in use. The medical back board is used to collect the patient from the scene and carry them back to the emergency vehicle where the patient is secured to the flip down back board. If the patient needs any medical drugs as part of the first responder treatment, it will be there in the cabinet compartment ready for use.
Side Door Access Cabinet Systems
The exterior of the bed and side cabinet is covered in rubber matting to make any necessary clean up extremely easy. These surfaces can be washed with soap and water and dried off leaving the cabinet clean and sterilized and ready for the next time the cabinet is needed. The interior of the compartments and the top, back and other side of the cabinet is covered in marine grade carpet so if it gets wet during the cleaning, it won’t get ruined. You could always opt to have the whole cabinet covered in a rubber matting if you so desire.
The type of Command Cabinet or cabinet system you require is dictated by the mission and your vehicle type.

A typical cabinet for a fire fighter is one that has a designated area for turn out gear and a SCBA bracket. A storage drawer and an open compartment would be a good option to store any additional items that need to be close by.
Cabinet Systems for Fire Chief
A fire chief probably would want to have a command board in his cabinet in addition to a SCBA bracket and space for turn out gear. Options such as a command board, map drawers and file drawers would make a command post easier to command.
